私、ReNgAはボカロpとして活動してまだ2年と少しくらいです。古い洋楽好きのおじさんなのでボカロっぽくない曲が多いと思いますが、懐かしい感じ、という方と、聞いたことなくて何か新鮮、という方がいらっしゃるようで幸いです。
その昔ロックバンドのギターリストとして活動していました。主に小樽市を拠点として全曲Rolling Stonesのコピーを演っておりました。と言うとだいたいどんな音楽が好きかご理解いただけるかと。'70sUKロックに傾倒しつつ、ブルース、ロックンロール、リズム＆ブルース全般が血液に流れています。

ReNgA という名前は 「連歌」という古典文学の風流に因んだものではありますが、上の句、下の句のリレーを音楽の世界でやろうということはまだ構想段階です。いつかそれに近いことができないか、外の世界へ飛び出すことができたなら挑戦してもよいかもしれないと。TOPページに掲げた、宗祇先生の言う 「連歌は風体（ふうてい）を先とし、心（こころ）を次とす」 とは、連歌においてまずは姿（美と雰囲気）が重要で、その後に中身と理屈が来る、ことを意味するそうです。先に「形式美」があり、後に「心」でまとめる。畏れながらReNgAのボカロへの想いも同じく、まずはvocaloidの美しさと古典ロックの形が先で、化学反応を起こしながら熱量を上げていき、「熱情」を以って完成させたい、と…。お気に入りのボーカロイドは 花響琴、符色、ナースロボタイプT、Harukaなど。

My name is ReNgA, and I’ve been active as a Vocaloid producer for just over two years. As an older bloke who loves classic Western music, I suspect many of my tracks don’t sound particularly ‘Vocaloid-like’, but I’m delighted to hear that some of you find them nostalgic, whilst others find them fresh and new.
A long time ago, I used to play guitar in a rock band. Based mainly in Otaru, we played nothing but Rolling Stones covers. I think that gives you a pretty good idea of the sort of music I like. Whilst I’m particularly fond of ’70s UK rock, blues, rock ’n’ roll and rhythm and blues in general run through my veins.

The name ‘ReNgA’ is inspired by the elegance of the classical literary form known as ‘renga’, though the idea of creating a musical relay of upper and lower verses is still only at the conceptual stage. I wonder if I might be able to do something similar one day; if I ever manage to break out into the wider world, I might just give it a go. The quote by Soji displayed on the homepage, ‘In renga, form comes first, and the heart comes second’, apparently means that in renga, form (beauty and atmosphere) is paramount, followed by substance and logic. First comes ‘formal beauty’, then ‘heart’ brings it all together. With all due respect, ReNgA’s vision for Vocaloid is much the same: first comes the beauty of Vocaloid and the form of classic rock, then we build up the intensity through a chemical reaction, aiming to complete the work with ‘passion’… My favourite Vocaloids include Hibiki Koto, Fuiro, Nurse Robot_TypeT, and Haruka.
